AccrediLaw Professional Development Pathway

The PSRAS Training & Assessment Programme prepares practitioners to meet the standards required for accreditation as a Police Station Representative. The programme combines structured legal learning, practical skills development and applied professional judgement to ensure candidates are ready for each stage of the PSRAS assessment process.

Through a series of focused modules, learners develop the knowledge, competencies and ethical foundations required to deliver effective police station advice. Training is aligned to the core operational domains of police station practice and supported by interactive exercises, scenario work and guided self-study.

By the end of the programme, candidates will be able to:
• Analyse disclosure, custody records and case materials to identify risk, strategy and legal issues.
• Advise clients clearly and lawfully, supporting informed decision-making under pressure.
• Plan and manage police interviews, including interventions and safeguarding actions.
• Demonstrate professional conduct, ethical judgement and independence in real-world settings.
• Produce accurate records of advice, interviews and post-interview steps.
• Understand contextual issues such as immigration-linked detention and parallel Home Office action.

This course is suitable for trainee solicitors, accredited representatives, paralegals, and any practitioner preparing for the Written Exam, Portfolio (Parts A and B) and the Critical Incident Test (CIT).

AccrediLaw provides a supportive learning environment with opportunities for peer discussion, tutor feedback, and structured progression through the accreditation process.
